Hey y’all, Was riding along today at about 60mph and I noticed the ABS light was going on and off intermittently. Then the abs and tcs light came on together and the speedo reading went down to 0 while I was riding. Turned it off and on again, got my speedo back but the ABS light is still coming on and going off. Where should I start with this?

Good Evening! I had a similar event happen on mine as well....just after changing both the front and rear tires. After looking over things carefully I discovered that the back ABS sensor line was not in the "clip" that holds it away from the rear rotor. Tucked it back in to the slot and no issues since!! Worth a try anyway.....

I'd suggest a little dab of silicone to help keep it in place. Still removable and flexible, but a little extra insurance. $$ if it gets damaged.

Sorry for reviving an old topic, but i just wanted to say thank you!! This really helped! Just one thing: now my engine light won't go out any more, since it lit up, along with the ABS, and the TCS acting insane..
PS: that wasn't super-clear.. TCS and ABS are now fine, since i re-clipped the wire mentioned above..
For me, when it happened, the speedo seemed fine (though i can't say 100%), but ABS light was going on and off, but, mostly, it was TCS going nuts; cutting all power at random times, thinking the rear-wheel was slipping..

Yea if it senses something amiss between the front and rear wheel sensors it'll cause ABS to not work and cause the TCS to be all messed up as it thinks the rear wheel is spinning faster than the front at times. The CEL might have something to do with how it was running due to the TCS malfunction. How many miles have you ridden it since you fixed the ABS sensor? Might be something that needs time to reset the ECU and make the CEL go away.

Where would the ABS sensor line be located? I just got my FZ from a family member and the speedometer isn't working and the ABS and TCS light stays on. Would this be the same problem?

There's two, one on each wheel. The front is under the left fork leg and the rear is on the right side. The sensors work with the slotted discs mounted to the wheels. Front: Rear:
