I use my cell phone for navigation when riding. I've gone through so many USB cables. The last one on my FZ1 lasted one week. I turned my bars to park, the cable end pressed against my tank bag while it was plugged into my phone, and bam, intermittent charging. Ive also worn out connectors from constantly plugging and unplugging. I don't leave my phone on the bike when I walk away from it and I take pics when I ride so it is unplugged a lot. It's good on some level that the connector gives way before the charging port on the phone does, but I was done with constantly replacing cables. So I decided to look into magnetic USB connectors. The reviews were all over the place with many folks having connectors that fell apart when pulled on because of the strength of the magnet. After reading about several options, I decided on the WSKEN Mini 2. They had good reviews and hit my two biggest needs. If you're one of the Apple mutants, they make cables for it too. www.amazon.com/Magnetic-iKNOWTECH-Android-Version-Display/dp/B071CFJC3S/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1501588199&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=wsken+2+meter(Check eBay too - they're a few dollars cheaper) -Quick Charge compatible. When running GPS apps my phone uses power faster than a standard charger can replenish so my battery level drops slowly all day unless it's Quick Charge. -Available in at least a 6ft length. That's the minimum to run it from tail to bar with a little slack left over. The WSKEN has a 1m or 2m length option. The kit comes with a plug that fits into the USB port on your device and the cable. The only downside is that unless you want to constantly remove the plug on your device you will need to get a cable for all the chargers you use. I got 6...one for each of the 3 bikes, one each for home, work, and my truck. So about an $80 investment. They work great and connecting them takes little effort. Once you get the cable close enough the magnets snap it into place. If you try to attach the cable upside down, the magnets will flip it over. I rode with my WR250 yesterday on some rough trails and the cable stays on the phone so there should be no issues with street riding. If the connector touches something it will break away with no damage. And the phone cradle. On my street bikes I am using a Ram X-Mount and they work well but I've had a few times where the phone moves in the cradle on really rough pavement. On my dual sport I am using the a Perfect Squeeze from Hondo Garage. It was recommended on advrider and it does what it says. I was trial riding for most of the evening and my phone didn't budge. It's not cheap but if you want your phone secure to the mount, this is a great option. www.hondogarage.com/index.php/product/landing/perfect-squeeze-phone-mount10% discount on these with the code 'advrider'

I'd love to get a Rokform, but the case blocking the wireless charging is a no-go.
SP-Connect has a similar product and says wireless charging works through their case so I may give them a try.
