I have my exhaust sitting there staring at me waiting to be installed tomorrow and was wondering what's the easiest way to unplug and remove the O2 sensors. I'm going to be reinstalling them. I just want to do it right and not twist the wires. I was thinking I'll probably have to remove the tank or at least get it propped up high enough to get to the plug. Unless someone else knows and easier way.

It's easy, but I recommend a metal pick to get at the connection release clips.

Just remember the number of turns it takes and twist the wires in the opposite direction before reinstalling. Cheers, MrHix

I just really don't want to if I can actually get to the plugs without disassembling the whole bike. Just something OCD about it lol.

What didn't happen until just now though was my brain saying hey, if you disconnect the easy one you can just unscrew the hard one out of the exhaust when it's loose and leave it plugged in. Duh. I think I have an idea of what I'm going to do now. Thanks!

If my bike could travel at the speed of light, would my headlights work?

What Mr Hix said is what my instructions said to do and works fine. However, if you plan to use a wide band with Woolich or FTECU for the auto or active tune, which I highly recommend, then prop the tank and remove the sensors to save a step later. You will obviously will need to purchase the caps to close the bungs.

If you're eliminating the cat you should be doing AIS blockoff plates also. Do them at the same time and it's easy to get to the right side plug when the tank is off.
If you're going to do the 2WDW reflash you'll be ditching the O2 sensors altogether.

I actually got it all figured out that night. I just unplugged the left side and then rotated the cat to unscrew the right side. Was actually pretty easy. Then I just got the right side all nice and tight and then put the y-pipe on and screwed in the left side. No twisted wires and no messing with the tank. And the AIS is still on there I just have to turn it off in my ECU flashing program.

Are you able to turn off the AIS in the flashing program or just disable the malfunction code associated with it not working or being unplugged? I think you still need to physically use block offs or at least plug the hose from the airbox if you are going catless and want to eliminate popping.

It has a diagnostic code reader and also a setting to turn off the AIS completely. I actually kinda like popping. It adds to the mean sound the cross plane motor has. Takes it from ooh that sounds mean to oh that's going to do bad things to me and my family I need to hide lol.

Hey, whatever blows your skirt up! lol The fact that I'm too lazy to lift the tank right now doesn't exactly help either lol.

It’s a bxxch to do but using a coat hanger into a hook and a flat head I was able to put them together.
